General Yoga
The classical techniques of Yoga date back more than 5,000 years. In ancient times, the desire for greater personal freedom, health and long life, and heightened self-understanding gave birth to this system of physical and mental exercise which has since spread throughout the world. The word Yoga means to join or yoke together, and it brings the body and mind together into one harmonious experience. The whole system of Yoga is built on three main structures: exercise, breathing, and meditation.
Forrest Yoga
Ana Forrest has spent 30 years developing Forrest yoga to address physical and emotional stresses and challenges. Pose sequences and conscious breathing will help to bring aliveness into your body. The pillars are: breath, strength, integrity and spirit. As a beginner you learn to breathe deeply and connect in feeling with your body. As you progress, you get proficient at safely tailoring each pose to work best for you; particularly with physical or emotional injuries. Forrest yoga gets you strong and centred by connecting to your core. It does not require strength or flexibility; it only requires that you bring an open mind.
Pregnancy yoga
Yoga is one of the best forms of exercise during pregnancy, a gentle, safe means of keeping toned, relaxing mind and body and preparing for the physical demands of birth and motherhood itself. This class is an adaptation of classic yoga practices providing exercises that you can also practice at home during your pregnancy.
Baby Yoga
Baby yoga, which complements infant massage, offers quality physical stimulation including flowing postures, holding, movement, touch, voice and deep relaxation. It induces a happy, care-free and lively parent-infant interaction which develops as the babies grow.
Dynamic Yoga
Dynamic Yoga is an ancient oriental practice, which brings enormous health benefits. It tonifies the internal organs, strengthens the connective tissue, corrects misalignment of the spine, develops good breathing technique, encourages relaxation and purifies the spirit. The key elements in Dyanamic Yoga which make it distinct from pure traditional forms are an emphasis on oriental systems of mind, body and energetic understanding and the spectrum of moves that is broader than common styles.
Boxercise
Boxercise combines boxing and exercise in great fun, stress busting activity to suit everyone who wants to enjoy boxing training without getting hit or the elitism of some so called purists. Boxercise is one of the most effective forms of cross-training available today. It combines use of both aerobic and anaerobic energy systems with the systematic recruitment of both fast and slow twitch muscle fibres in a manner that not only ensures a diverse workout, but also enhances sports specific senses, including hand-eye co-ordination, balance and timing. Boxercise classes are always fun, energetic and addictive.
Pilates
Pilates exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints. Caroline practises Stott Pilates, which includes the modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and effective methods available.
Pilates flows through a series of movements requiring you to focus on your breathing and observe the subtle differences within your body. Eventually you can achieve a very meditative state while doing Pilates, growing mentally and spiritually over time. By becoming more body aware, you will feel better and look better.
