Jan Atkins - Yoga Teacher

After practicing yoga for over ten years, Jan wanted to take her practice to another level. Exploring many forms of yoga she realised how empowering a regular Yoga practice can be.

As a designer, sitting at a computer and having to deal with the consequences. Suffering from RSI and lower back problems. She discovered that through Yoga it is possible to re-align the body and amend bad postural habits formed over many years. Transforming a tired mind and body into a strong and healthy one.

Jan qualifed as a Yoga Alliance teacher in 2005. Teaching a dynamic Yinyasa Yoga. Her system is inspired by the traditional practice making it relevant for todays needs. Integrating breath and movement, working on core strength and flexibility, stretching and lengthening. Awareness on the breath as the mind and body follows. When the posture is one with the movement, the movement is one with the breath and the breath is one with the awarness.

She believes anything is attainable through regular practice. The power of Yoga as a discipline applied to everyday life can open up a whole new realm of possibilities.
